US Open of Tennis
Stadium Director-Arthur Ashe Stadium
Add the woman that got her start in the ESPN X-Games to the world of tennis and the result is Andy Roddick entering the stadium to ‘Enter Sandman’ by Metallica. When the US Open of Tennis wanted to introduce music and entertainment elements to matches they hired Christy as the Stadium Director for Arthur Ashe Stadium. Christy spent five years, 2002 to 2006, ensuring spectators were engaged in the game in-between points. She introduced live to house interviews, player requested music for their entrance to the court, and winners autographing tennis balls and hitting them to the crowd after the match. While respecting the umpires call for quiet, Christy brought the crowds to their feet and closer to the athletes.
